Y'all. This little guy might be my favorite desk toy I've made all year. It's Appa — chibi-fied, with that big ol' tongue out — built around a real mechanical keyboard switch. You press the face in, it clicks, and it is so, so satisfying. The kind of click you'll be doing all day without realizing it. Meetings, render queues, that 49-hour print you're babysitting — Appa's got you. How it works: two parts. The Appa faceplate and the black back housing. You drop a single mechanical keyboard switch (Cherry MX-style) into the housing, snap the face on top, and that's your click. No glue, no electronics, no batteries — just a clean tactile press. What you'll need: The printed parts (in this model) One Cherry MX-style mechanical keyboard switch — any tactile or clicky switch works great. Got a spare from a keyboard build? Perfect. Don't have one lying around? They're a couple bucks online, and honestly worth grabbing a handful — you're gonna want to print the whole crew. The colors I used (Bambu Lab) — but real talk, use whatever you've got: Jade White — the fur Blue Gray — the muzzle, horns, ears, and feet Black — the outlines and the back housing Matte Terracotta — the arrow marking Basic Pink — the tongue That's the combo that gave me this exact look, but this guy doesn't care what's in your AMS. Swap in your own palette and make him yours. Never assembled a switch fidget before? Totally fine — if you can snap two bricks together, you've got this. If you make one, I'd love to see it — drop a photo in the comments. And if you want more cozy little builds like this, come hang out with the crew. Take care, y'all. 🤙
