1. Absorption blending - why your lithophane preview changed

Back-lit blends now darken by each filament's TD instead of a fixed half-strength step, so a saved lithophane opens darker than you left it. Nothing broke - the old preview was the optimistic one.

One thing the video is emphatic about: if the project is back-lit and on Default Color Match, re-check the match, not just the preview. The live matcher stays pinned to front-lit candidates, so 0.9.4.2 resolves a different match - different filament and layer output, not only a different render.

2. The maintenance window - what it costs and when

Every 0.9.4.x build is free for every owner, whatever your window says. The two-year update window is not new - Steve's words are "this has always been in the terms since the very beginning." What changed is that you can now see it, track it, and renew it from your account page.

Two paid tiers take it the rest of the way. Master Maker is $12/month — the commercial license to sell Vic's designs, plus Margin Forge, the Business Partner, and The Catalog. HueForge Pro is $25/month — everything there, plus the full course, coaching, and Pro Tools.
